A few new NYX Beauty Bits

Ahhhh NYX, it may be a bit of a blogger cliché at the minute but if somethings so well loved it's usually for a good reason.

One of those reason is probably that it’s only just made its way across the pond and in to a few actual irl drugstores dotted about the UK. I'm not one for buying makeup online because even after being a makeup wearing female for nearly 7 years now I'm still never sure about what will actually suit me. My skin is super pale, but super yellow toned so I need a good long swatching session in store before I'm happy that something really suits me!

So with this in mind I dragged my poor boyfriend to the Boots store in Sheffield one sunny day last week so I could swatch till my heart’s content. I did manage to show some restraint though, much to the happiness of my ever dwindling bank balance, and walked away with just three different bits. I have tried them all now but some only a few times, so this is more like a wee first impressions post than a full on review.

First things first I bought a couple of *those* Matte Lip Crèmes in the shades Stockholm and Copenhagen. Stockholm is my absolute go to every day lip colour at the minute; honestly I've been wearing it nearly every day. On me it comes out a gorgeous muted brownish rose colour, so it’s fab if you fancy a subtle nod to the 90's brown lip trend that's so big at the moment.

Copenhagen on the other hand is a really deep burgundy purple that's kind of scary because I'm deathly afraid of colour. It’s so beautiful though it's definitely worth trying to be brave and wearing it anyway. Both of the lip creams have a really lovely light non-drying texture and I’ve found that they stay around for a good few hours before needing a bit of a top up, unless you're eating or drinking and then they fade pretty quickly.

The other thing I picked up was the Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam as a cruelty free replacement for my now finished (and once very much loved) High beam from benefit. They're both satiny pink liquid highlighters and I've got to say that the NYX offering is really standing up well so far! It's so exciting to know that there's yet another brilliant cruelty free drugstore brand right on my doorstep.

I've already got my eye on a few other bits from NYX, including the brow pomade and a few of the jumbo eye pencils, but if there's anything else you think I should check out then definitely let me know.
